Steel skin, smarter glass
A steel entry door's slab is already extremely difficult to defeat with hand tools — the weak point is always the decorative glass insert. Trust Build's steel-door glass packages are spec'd specifically to make sure the glass keeps pace with the steel: tempered safety glass minimum, laminated inner pane standard on any insert larger than 8x36 inches.
Steel doors also benefit more than wood or fibreglass from a thermally efficient glass insert. The steel skin conducts cold much faster than the polyurethane core inside, so the area immediately around a poorly insulated decorative glass pane can become the cold spot of the whole entry. Triple-pane Cardinal IG eliminates that cold halo.
