An egress window is a window that meets Ontario Building Code minimum size requirements for emergency escape — typically a minimum 0.35 square metres of clear opening. Ontario Building Code requires every bedroom to have a compliant egress window. If your basement has bedrooms without proper egress windows, they are not legal bedrooms and may affect your home insurance and resale value. Trust Build installs code-compliant egress windows including the masonry cut, window installation, window well, and permit.
