Your front door is the face of your home. A great entry door delivers three things at once: security, energy efficiency, and curb appeal. This guide walks through how Trust Build Windows and Doors engineers all three into every custom entry door we install across Ontario.

What goes into a Trust Build entry door

Every entry door we install is a complete system — not just a new slab. That means multi-point locking hardware, R-15+ insulated cores, full frame and threshold replacement, premium weather stripping, and a finish designed to elevate your facade.

  • Insulated steel or fiberglass slab
  • Full frame and threshold replacement
  • Reinforced strike plates
  • Sidelights, transoms and custom glass available
  • Smart-lock compatible hardware

Security and style, engineered together

Heavy-duty deadbolts and optional smart locks. Reinforced strike plates standard.

Energy Star certified

R-15+ insulation values with full perimeter weather stripping.

Hundreds of finishes

Solid colours, woodgrains, custom paint match. Sidelights and decorative glass options.

Premium hardware

Schlage, Weiser, Kwikset and Baldwin hardware in every finish — brass, matte black, satin nickel.

Lifetime warranty

Door, frame, hardware and our workmanship covered for as long as you own your home.

Steel vs fiberglass — how to decide

Both materials outperform old wood doors in Ontario's climate. Steel wins on security and price; fiberglass wins on insulation, dent resistance, and looks. Most homeowners pick steel if security is the priority and budget matters, and fiberglass if they want a wood-grain look that holds up for decades without sanding or refinishing.

We walk through both options during your in-home assessment — including how each material performs in direct south or west sun, which is where cheap doors fail first.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose a steel or fiberglass entry door?

Steel is the most secure and the most affordable. Fiberglass mimics real wood grain, never warps, and insulates marginally better. We help you pick the right fit during your project assessment.

Are entry doors energy efficient?

Yes. Every door is insulated with high-density polyurethane foam, weather-stripped on all four sides, and rated for Ontario's climate.

Do you replace the frame or just the slab?

We replace the full system — slab, frame, threshold, weather stripping and hardware. Patch-jobs leak air and water; we don't do them.

Can I add sidelights or a transom?

Yes. We offer single doors, double doors, doors with one or two sidelights, transoms above, and custom glass inserts.

How long does an entry door install take?

A standard entry door replacement takes 4–6 hours, including new framing, weather stripping and hardware install. You'll have a secure, weather-tight door the same day.
