Luxury Aluminum Windows For Southern Ontario's Finest Homes
Thermally broken, narrow-sightline aluminum windows engineered for contemporary architecture, custom luxury builds, and high-end renovations. Built to architectural specification across the GTA and Southern Ontario.
Aluminum is the structural workhorse of contemporary residential architecture — strong enough for floor-to-ceiling glazing, slim enough to almost disappear, and finished to a standard no other window material can match.
Narrow Sightlines
Frame profiles as slim as 50–70 mm — nearly half the width of vinyl — for maximum glass area and uninterrupted views.
Large-Format Glazing
Structural strength to support oversized panels and full window walls that vinyl frames cannot accommodate.
Thermally Broken Performance
Polyamide insulating barriers, multi-chamber profiles, and triple-pane glass packages engineered for Ontario winters.
Lifetime Durability
Aluminum does not rot, warp, swell, or fade. Powder-coated finishes hold their colour and integrity for decades.
The default specification for luxury custom homes, contemporary architecture, and high-end Ontario renovations.

Recent Aluminum Window Installations
Selected projects across Toronto, Oakville, Vaughan, Muskoka, and Southern Ontario. New galleries added regularly.
Installation quality is as important as glass performance, Energy Rating (ER), U-Value and SHGC. A premium window installed poorly will underperform a mid-tier window installed correctly. Trust Build is an installation-first company focused on proper building-envelope integration — here are the four methods we use and when each one is the right choice.
Brick-to-Brick Installation
Trust Build Premium Method
Trust Build's most common premium installation. The existing window is removed to the brick opening and the old frame is taken out. The opening and existing insulation are inspected, additional insulation is added where required, the new window is set into the original brick opening, the exterior perimeter is sealed and protected, and new aluminum capping is installed. Interior finishes are preserved where possible — this is not the same as a North American full-tear-out 'full-frame replacement'.
✓Larger glass area than retrofit installation
✓Better air sealing and perimeter insulation
✓Allows inspection of the opening condition
✓Maintains the original window size
✓Preserves interior finishes where possible
Best for: Homeowners who want maximum performance and proper envelope sealing without major interior reconstruction.
The most extensive installation method. The window and surrounding construction materials are removed and the opening is exposed to the structural framing. Damaged materials can be repaired or replaced, openings can be modified or resized, and new insulation and waterproofing are installed before the new window or door is set into the rebuilt opening.
✓Allows structural repairs
✓Allows resizing of openings
✓Allows window-to-door conversions
✓Provides complete access to the building envelope
✓Ideal for egress and major renovation projects
Best for: Enlarging windows, window-to-door conversions, structural repairs, egress window projects and major remodeling projects.
The existing frame remains in place and the new window is installed within it. Interior and exterior finishes stay largely untouched — a faster, lower-cost option when the existing frame is in excellent structural condition. There is a slight reduction in glass area, and full inspection of the rough opening isn't possible.
✓Faster installation
✓Lower installation cost
✓Minimal disruption
✓Preserves existing interior and exterior finishes
Best for: Homes where the existing frame is structurally sound and free of water damage.
A specialized method commonly used with vinyl windows. The exterior portion of the existing frame is removed while the interior frame components remain intact — existing interior casing and trim are preserved, and the new window is integrated into the existing interior frame structure. Provides more glass area than most retrofits and allows exterior weatherproofing upgrades.
✓Preserves interior finishes and existing trim
✓Minimizes drywall and repainting work
✓More glass area than most retrofits
✓Allows exterior waterproofing and capping upgrades
Best for: Homes with premium interior wood trim, recently renovated interiors, and vinyl window replacement projects where preserving interior finishes matters.
Not every home qualifies for retrofit or split-frame
Before recommending an installation method, Trust Build evaluates existing frame condition, moisture exposure, structural integrity, air leakage and the overall condition of the opening. The right method is determined after on-site inspection to ensure long-term performance and durability — not chosen on price alone.
Installation quality is equally important as glass performance, Energy Rating (ER), U-Value and SHGC values.
FAQ
Aluminum Windows — Frequently Asked Questions
Aluminum windows use extruded aluminum profiles for the frame and sash instead of vinyl or wood. Modern residential aluminum windows are thermally broken — a polyamide insulating barrier separates the interior and exterior aluminum, dramatically reducing heat transfer. The result is a slim, contemporary frame strong enough to support very large glass panels with energy performance suitable for Ontario's climate.
Yes — provided they are thermally broken. Standard commercial aluminum is a poor insulator, but the residential aluminum systems we install use a polyamide thermal break, multi-chamber profiles, double or triple-pane Low-E glass with argon or krypton fill, and warm-edge spacers. Performance meets or exceeds Energy Star requirements for Ontario's climate zone.
Black aluminum windows have become the signature of modern Ontario architecture — particularly farmhouse-modern, contemporary, industrial, and waterfront builds. The narrow black frames recede visually, maximizing the glass area and giving the home a clean, gallery-like aesthetic that pairs beautifully with stone, brick, cedar, and metal cladding.
Aluminum's structural strength allows sightlines as narrow as 50 mm to 70 mm — roughly half the width of typical vinyl frames. This gives you significantly more daylight and unobstructed views for the same rough opening.
Far larger than vinyl. Our aluminum systems support fixed panels up to 8 to 12 feet tall and wide, and full window walls combining multiple operable and fixed units. This makes aluminum the only practical choice for floor-to-ceiling glazing, dramatic stairwell windows, and great-room window walls.
Picture, fixed casement, casement, awning, tilt-and-turn, slider, and custom configurations including corner windows, transom assemblies, and full window walls. Every configuration is built to your exact opening — there are no off-the-shelf sizes.
Aluminum accepts a wider colour palette than any other window material. Standard premium colours include matte black, anthracite grey, bronze, charcoal, pure white, off-white, and sand. Custom RAL colour matching is available for architectural projects, along with anodized and woodgrain finishes.
Double-pane and triple-pane sealed units with Low-E coating, argon or krypton gas fill, warm-edge spacers, and optional upgrades including laminated security glass, acoustic glass for noise reduction, tempered safety glass, tinted and reflective glass, and integral blinds between the panes.
Yes — aluminum sits in the premium tier. Expect aluminum windows to cost roughly 1.5 to 2.5 times a comparable vinyl window, depending on size, glass package, and finish. The investment reflects the structural performance, slim sightlines, custom finishing, and design-grade aesthetics — which is why aluminum is the standard choice for luxury custom homes and high-end renovations.
With proper installation, residential aluminum windows have an expected service life of 40+ years. Aluminum does not rot, warp, swell, fade, or off-gas, and powder-coated finishes typically carry a 15 to 25-year manufacturer warranty against fade, chalk, and corrosion.
Thermally broken aluminum windows perform comparably to vinyl on condensation resistance when paired with appropriate glass. Most condensation issues come from high indoor humidity rather than the window itself. We size the glass package to your home's exposure and ventilation during the in-home consultation.
Yes. While aluminum is most strongly associated with modern architecture, profiles with applied grilles, simulated divided lites, and warmer finishes can complement transitional and updated-traditional homes. For pure heritage restorations we typically recommend our Prime Wood Windows.
Aluminum is the preferred material for waterfront, lakeside, and rural builds with significant exposure. The frames will not rot, swell, or degrade from humidity, salt spray, or UV — and the structural strength handles high wind loads and large glass spans that vinyl simply cannot support.
