Installation Method

Hybrid Window Installation

The middle path. Full interior re-insulation and new interior trim — without disturbing the exterior brick mould or masonry.

Why Hybrid

Brick-to-brick envelope. Retrofit-style exterior.

Hybrid installation gives you the full perimeter insulation and flashing of a brick-to-brick job — done entirely from the inside — while leaving your exterior brick mould, trim and masonry untouched. It's the right call when the outside looks great but the inside needs a refresh.

  • Full perimeter foam and flashing
  • Exterior masonry stays intact
  • New interior casing and jamb extensions included
  • Great fit for upper-floor windows
  • Lifetime workmanship warranty

Our Process

Five steps — all interior

1

Inspect & spec

Confirm exterior brick mould is sound. Measure interior rough opening once interior trim is removed.

2

Interior demo

Remove operable sash, interior frame components and casing. Exterior brick mould stays put.

3

Insulate & flash

Full perimeter peel-and-stick flashing and low-expansion foam — the same envelope a brick-to-brick gets.

4

Set & seal

New unit is shimmed, fastened and sealed against the existing exterior trim.

5

Interior finish

New interior casing and jamb extensions installed and finished paint-ready.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Hybrid installation removes the operable sash and the interior portion of the existing frame while leaving the exterior brick mould intact. The new unit is sealed and insulated like a brick-to-brick from the inside, but the exterior finish stays untouched.
When the exterior brick mould is in great shape and you don't want to disturb the masonry, but the interior frame is tired or you want a full perimeter re-insulation. It's also a smart choice for upper-floor windows where exterior access is difficult.
Hybrid usually sits in between — more than retrofit because of the added interior work, but less than full brick-to-brick because we don't disturb exterior masonry or trim.
Yes — interior casing and jamb extensions are included in every hybrid quote, so your interior comes back looking new.
Plan on 1.5–2.5 hours per opening — longer than retrofit, faster than brick-to-brick. Most full-home hybrid projects finish in 1–2 days.
